About the Study

As part of the STAR family study we sought to understand the experiences of women with autoimmune rheumatic diseases who were thinking about starting a family, were pregnant or had young children.  

We also spoke to a range of health professionals about the care and support that women receive during this stage in their lives.

This has helped us to understand what information and support women would like during this time.

The study included:

• An online survey to find out about women’s experiences and what support they would value
• In-depth interviews with women and health professionals
• A stakeholder consensus event to talk about what we have found, generate ideas, and decide on what the priorities should be for research in this area

We are currently busy collating the data and preparing reports and peer reviewed publications to share our finding.

We have also presented findings throughout numerous national and international conferences. Please refer to the Study Findings section of this website.
